A consultation with Amanda offers you the opportunity to look beyond the symptoms of the health issues you are experiencing to try to discover the causes of the imbalances that have led to your current state of health.
Amanda is trained in the western biomedical model of disease as well as the more traditional holistic understanding of health from the perspective of herbal medicine. This means that your consultation will integrate the diagnosis and test results you may have had from your GP or Specialist with a more holistic understanding your health.
Before your consultation you will be asked to keep a diet, exercise and sleep diary so that we can look for any patterns that might be contributing to the state of health you are experiencing.
You are also asked to bring along any test results you have, your current medications and any supplements you are taking.
During the consultation a full history of your health, diet, exercise, family history and mental and emotional health will be considered.
The consultation does not involve any needles, blood work, massage or other physical intervention.
Once the consultation is complete Amanda will recommend herbal medicines for you and possibly diet and lifestyle suggestions.
The herbal medicines take the form of capsules or teas that are easy to make. They might also be in liquid form (tinctures) or syrups, or salves.
If you would like a follow up consultation this can be booked as needed.
Trade for Consultations
I am aware that given the current economic situation some people may have difficulty paying for a Herbal Medicine consultation. In an effort to make Herbal Medicine accessible, I am open to the possibility of trading Herbal Medicine consultations in exchange for products or services which are necessities for my family.
All trading is done at market value for market value. In other words what you are offering to trade must reasonably be expected to receive the same value in cash in the marketplace as the services and herbs you are taking from me.
I would like to be able to provide my services to anyone who needs them free of charge. But I too need to put food on the table for my family. Therefore trades for products which are not necessary for my family will not be accepted.
