Creating your own Herb Garden
Fall 2018
This is a great time of year to start thinking about creating your own herb garden or to re-invgorate your existing herb garden with new plants. We often have Medicinal Plants for sale at Black Bear Herb Garden. We are not a nursery but there are often volunteers that we pot up and sell, and plants that have thrived and needed to be divided. So it is always worth giving us a call if you are looking for medicinal plants to start your own herb garden.
When you are thinking of planting a herb garden it is a great idea to think about what you really want your garden to look like and what function you want it to serve.
Do you want a garden that is full of beautiful aromatic herbs that will attract butterflies and bees? Are you more interested in herbs that you can use for cooking? Or are you interested in a garden that will give you herbal medicines that you can harvest to stock your medicine chest or first aid kit?
It's a great time to start dreaming. And to help you dream have a look at Richters seed catalogue. They are based in Ontario and have an outstanding collection of herbs - medicinal, culinary and olfactory beauties!
